Matthew E. Tolentino is the CEO and founder of NAMATAD found in 2018. He worked with intel for 15 years as Research Scientist and also worked at U.S Department of Defense (DoD). He is an Assistant professor at the University of Washington Tacoma. After two years of hard work  Dr. Tolentino has a groundbreaking system, SOMASYS, to address the needs of the firefighters and founded Namatad. This device doesn’t require wifi, does not require pre existing building infrastructure, has its own long lasting power source and can operate, with tremendous amount of precision, even in the extreme that come with fire and fire fighting.
This FIREFLY is the name of the device which  dynamically deployed location and environment sensing platform that captures and records data during incident response and enables real-time & post- incident analytics. He also told us how the device works and every fighter has this device on themselves. This beacon device was tested at the fire department in Tacoma. As this  beacon comes online, they form an ad-hoc mesh network which allows the incident commanders to track the location of firefighters on their tablets. As the beacon deployed, they begin tracking temperature, gas particulate counts, carbon monoxide, humidity levels, firefighter pulse rate and blood oxygen saturation levels. They can make decisions while looking at the situation and the results they get and every piece of information  they need is available at their fingertips.

As, the NAMATAD is helping with so many locations of fire stations and along with that they are also helping many schools and industries  to save their lives in life threatening conditions. Beside explaining about his company, he also showed us the proper business plan he made for his company along with their mission statement. This lecture gave us so much information on how we can start on  our business plan.
